Following medical school at Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Gail Weingast completed a lot of internships, residencies and fellowships until she felt that she was solid as a radiologist. That realization and certification came back in 1984. Soon after, Dr. Gail Weingast worked at several other hospitals, mostly in Colorado, but also in New York. She finally settled into the position that would define her career, when she became a radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut.
Dr. Gail Weingast has been at Backus Hospital for more than 20 years and, in that time, she has been able to guide their radiology department into its current position as a premiere medical facility. These days, Dr. Weingast is their Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. However, while her path to her current important position wasn’t always a straight line, she values every aspect of her educational and career journey because it has all contributed to make her the fine doctor she is today.
