When her journey began in 1969, Gail Weingast may not have had any inkling she would someday be a top radiologist with a 40-year career as a medical professional. After all, the beginning of her education came when she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Tufts University’s Jackson College. If she wasn’t considering medicine back them, something changed her mind soon after, because she attended Boston University’s School of Medicine and officially became Dr. Gail Weingast MD in 1976. In the 40-plus years since then, however, she has dedicated herself to the radiology profession and she has helped to heal thousands.
Following medical school, and about eight years of internships, residencies and other education that all doctors have to endure, Dr. Gail Weingast practiced in numerous hospitals in Colorado and New York, until she settled into her current position where she has been for more than 20 years. At William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, she has created a radiology department considered one of the best in the region. Now, Dr. Gail Weingast is the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging and she has an admirable medical career to look back to.
