Dr. Gail Weingast‘s trajectory toward becoming a doctor wasn’t immediately apparent, as her educational journey commenced at Jackson College, Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts, in 1969, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish. Despite the excellence of this institution, the allure of the medical profession soon beckoned, leading her to enroll in the esteemed Boston University School of Medicine. It was there that she officially attained the title of Dr. Gail Weingast MD in 1976.

Despite this humble beginning, Dr. Gail Weingast has risen to prominence as one of the nation’s foremost radiology specialists. For the past two decades, she has been an integral part of William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, where she currently serves as the organization’s Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. Over the span of her tenure, she has successfully cultivated a radiology department that stands among the finest in the field. Dr. Weingast attributes her exemplary career to the invaluable education and experience she has accrued over more than four decades, which have provided her with the edge necessary to excel in her profession.
